What is the difference between the Bernina 220 & 215 sewing machine?
Buying a sewing machine for my mum as a suprise and not sure what the difference between these 2 models are, does anyone know? Thanks
Thanks Kay but you didnt really answer my question, what is the difference between them? I know my mum wanted the 220 but it looks like the 215 is a newer model!

Please don’t buy your mom a surprise sewing machine unless you know she really would like one of those two models. Those of us who have sewn for awhile get pretty picky about what we like and don’t like in a machine. It’s sort of like buying shoes… You may know someone else’s shoe size, but you can’t tell how they’re going to feel on their feet. I, for instance, think Berninas are overpriced for what they are, and poorly set up for me. And I know people who wouldn’t touch one of the machines I love.

What is the 165E Bernina sewing machine like? When was it released and how much is one worth (good condition).?

$500 – 600 would be in the ball park, but if the embroidery unit requires .art format for the embroidery designs, I would not purchase it…not all designs come in .art and other formats will not convert to .art.
